New Delhi: On Friday the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) said that its decision to withdraw support to the JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) government in Jharkhand was on hold for the moment. Ananth Kumar -- BJP Decision To Withdraw Support From JMM Was Put On Hold

The BJP had its meeting under the leadership of party president (Nitin Gadkari). They have decided to withhold its decision to withdraw its support to the present government in Jharkhand. After the BJP announced withdrawal of support from the JMM leadership they received two letters, one from JMM chief Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren and other from this son Hemant Soren respectively.

Ananth Kumar said, “We received two letters from the leadership of JMM. One was from Shibu Soren in which he appealed that in the interest of poorer sections of the society of Jharkhand, the state should not be pushed under the Congress misrule and the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government should stay. On April 29, the letter from Hemant Soren, says that the JMM has decided and is ready to form a government headed by the BJP.

In the light of both these letters, the parliamentary board of the BJP has decided to have talks with the allied parties in the state like Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), JD-U (Janata Dal-United) and AJSU (All Jharkhand Students Union) as well as the BJP state unit to take a further decision.

The relationship between the BJP and the JMM was not working well because Shibu Soren has not given up his Lok Sabha membership. Apart from it, he voted in the favour of UPA (United Progressive Alliance) during the cut motion moved by the BJP which further deteriorated their relationship.
