Zanetti Shows His Support Towards Coach Batista

Coach BatistaExperienced Argentina player Javier Zanetti has shown his support towards interim coach Sergio Batista. The Argentina coach is getting good support to get the coaching assignment for permanent tenure.

Argentina had a superb 4-1 victory over Spain in a friendly match on Tuesday. Lionel Messi scored the opener in this game. This was followed by goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez in the first half. In the second half, Fernando Llorente scored the consolation goal for Spain and Kun Aguero scored one more for the winners.

Zanetti was of the opinion that they have brought happiness to the fans of the team because of their performance in the friendly. He said, “We have to all move forward. Fortunately we have given a great joy to Argentina fans, today they showed us all their affection before the game started.”

He added, “Spain were as good as we expected, but Argentina played very well and we were better.”

The 37 year old player showed his backing towards Batista. Although, he did not feature in the plans of former coach Maradona he had soft words for him also.

He remarked, “Batista deserves support, he is doing his job, he is doing very well, as did Maradona before, who did not fare so badly at the World Cup. It’s time to look to the future and a win like this motivates us a lot”.
