In a bizarre incident, at least 14 people have received injuries with a fire in Chinatown that immediately reached to the status of seven alarm after the midnight of the Monday morning. The fire had such a powerful impact that it engulfed at a very high speed. As many as 250 fire fighters and more than 60 departments of fire gave a response to the call. The immediate action started with the dissension of the fire fighters on the building that has six floors and is located at the 285 grand street.
The impact of the fire was so devastating that the flames rose as high as 25 to 30 feet above the roof. The ladders were leaned towards the walls and dozens of firefighters went in. the firefighters went in five at a time. This scene was witnessed by many people on the cool spring night. There were certain causalities in this incident and the sufferers were three civilians, ten firefighters and one medical helper.
However, there was no life threatening causality, as per the reports of the department of fire. One elderly person had to be taken to the hospital because of heart complications. The impact of fire was such that it spread to two adjacent buildings immediately. The blaze started at 10 pm on Sunday night.
By the time it was 1.45 pm, the fire fighters did call for the additional fire fighter services because they had a concept that fire will extinguish. It however did not happen.
