Didier Drogba Looking For Third Hat-Trick In Succession

Didier DrogbaForward Didier Drogba will have his eyes on scoring the third hat-trick in succession when his side Chelsea takes on Wigan Athletic in a game on Saturday.

Last player to achieve this rare feat was Jack Balmer for Liverpool in 1946. Only two more players have achieved this amazing feat in history. Frank Osborne who played for Tottenham Hotspur achieved the record in 1925 and Tom Jennings who played for Leeds United achieved this in 1926.

His first hat- trick came when Chelsea won the Premier League by defeating Wigan Athletic 8-0 in the title match. Last Saturday he scored his second hat-trick when his side had a 6-0 victory in their opening match of the season versus West Brom.

Drogba, who is 32 years old, now stands tall at the sixth position in the Chelsea’s all time top scorers list.

The stylish player was very delighted and happy about the feat. He said, “I didn’t know (about the feat) but it is really nice.”

He is very positive about his career and has high ambitions relating to it. He added, “I have said I want to make history in the club and by being among these big players I have done it. But I don’t want to stop here. I want my name as high as I can.”
