In one of the major victory of the Indian army against the foreign militia that is operating in the valley of Kashmir, one of the dreaded militant was killed in a fierce encounter with the army personnel in the sopore area of baramula district in the belt of north Kashmir.

The operation was launched by the key branch of the Indian security forces called the 47 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police. The anti militant operation started in the evening in the zaloora village of the sopore area. The operation started when clear cut information of the hideouts was received by the security forces, about the presence of the ultras in the region.
As the Indian army approached the hideout, the militants started an indiscriminate gun firing. This was retaliated by the Indian troops and thus the fierce gun battle started. Apart from the death of the militant of LET, one jawan of the Indian army sustained bullet injuries.
The details of the slain militant have however not been disclosed so far completely. There was another encounter on the sidelines; it was in the Doorsoo village in Sogam area of Kupwara district. However, in this operation, the militants managed to escape in the garb of darkness and taking the advantage of the dense forests.
