China, on Thursday, said that the mig 21 belonging to North Korea crashed solely because of the involvement of a mechanical defect.
Xinhua news agency said –
The plane, which crashed in Lagu Township in Fushun County, went off course due to a technical defect and strayed into Chinese territory. It further said that because of the crash, there was damage in the farm house. Apart from death of the pilot because of the impact, there was less causality.
The foreign diplomats say –
“If it was mechanical failure, why would the pilot have flown 200 km and crashed when there were plenty of landing strips on the way? It seems that both China and North Korea are trying to play down the incident.”
Rumors erupted on the Chinese website that there was a copilot who ejected out before crash but sources said that there was only one pilot.
