Friday was the day of happiness for the Members of parliament as Indian government passed ultimate order to increase the salary of MPs three times of the initial 16000? Now they will be getting 50,000 as their monthly salary! Apart from this they will be enjoying other allowance as well, for instance 28% DA and 30 % constituency allowance.
But there is saying that “there is no limit for desire” and this was today proven in the parliament by the unsatisfied MPs. Indian government faced remonstration in the Lower house. Except BJP every other parties MPs was against the increase. They wanted the salary to be increased by 5 times.
According to them it should be 80,001 per month which is one rupee higher than the hours after it decided to raise MPs’ salary to Rs 50,000 with several non-BJP opposition members storming the well demanding that it be raised to Rs 80,001 per month, which is one rupee higher than the maximum paid government official.
“Stop the insult of MPs” and “implement report of the parliamentary committee” were saying repeated by SP, BSP, JD (U), RJD, Shiv Sena and Akali Dal members, which strained parliament speaker Meera kumar to suspend the lower house two times.
