Pakistan accepts an amount of 5 million pounds from India as an aid for the food hit nation. The international donors have pledged more money for this.
Abdullah Haroon, Pakistan’s UN Ambassador said that because of the natural calamity, the differences between the two nations have transcended. The official confirmed that sindh region is the worst hit among all the regions of Pakistan with a dangerous impact on 2 million people.
UN statistics show 490.7 million dollars are raised and another 325 million dollars pledged. Because of the UN emergency appeal, the amount collected so far exceeds 460 million dollar. As per the official estimate, as many as 1600 people have been killed so far.
A refugee from Qayyas Bhayyo village said-
“I saw my house of wood and mud washed away. I saw grain and flour – we stockpiled food for months. It was all destroyed. We had no way to save our goats and buffaloes stranded in the water and crying.”
