Resident Evil – 4 On The Footsteps Of The Blockbuster Avatar

The grand success of James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster ‘Avatar’ is encouraging more and more filmmakers to construct movies in 3D. In this direction ‘Resident Evil-4’ is becoming the latest entrant to catch up the technique. Sony Pictures said in a statement, “The fourth instalment of the popular Resident Evil franchise will be the first movie after Avatar to use James Cameron & Vincent Pace’s patented Fusion Camera System, the world’s most highly developed 3D technology”.

Resident Evil – 4 On The Footsteps Of The Blockbuster AvatarThe title of the film is ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’. The film is written and directed by Paul W S Anderson. The story revolves around the fact that the, world ravaged by an infectious virus and victims are turned into the Undead. In the movie Alice portrayed by actress Milla Jovovich. She continues her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. The deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation escalates. She is helped by an old friend Claire Redfield. The role of Claire Redfield is played by Ali Larter.

The other stars in the movies are ‘Prison Break’ star Wentworth Miller. The movie will hit the Indian theatres on 10th September 2010. The movie is going to be released in Hindi, English, Telugu and Tamil simultaneously along with the US release.  After ‘Avatar’ the other movies which are using 3D technology are ‘Alice In Wonderland’, Tim Burton’s fantasy flick and ‘Clash of the Titans’ starring Sam Worthington.

Burton is planning to construct ‘Adam’s Family’ into 3D. On the other hand George Lucas is all set to revive ‘Star Wars’ films 3D. The other movies which are on the path of new makeover are ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollow’.
