To send a large file over internet usually people use either email message or upload them to an online storage service from which the recipient can download them. These two options are popular but may you use Gmail to send or receive emails. Gmail won’t let you send an email message which is larger than 25 MB.

The new solution for this kind of problem is Windows Live Hotmail service. it is a much better alternative as it lets you send email message as large as 10 GB. It is per message limit and the maximum size of an individual file that you can send in a message in Hotmail is 50 MB.

But in case you are sending larger file than 50 MB then you can use a file splitting utility like HJSplit that can break it into smaller chunks and the recipient can join these chunks to get the original file.

User can use this service without any external programs. To share a large file over internet Dropbox is another excellent service.

With Dropbox service you can upload files of any size to the internet. In case of free account you can use limited size of 2 GB with your Dropbox. You need to install the Dropbox utility on your desktop to use this service. You can also upload files straight to the Dropbox website from your browser but the limit is 300 MB per file.
