The IAF Chief Rules Out Any Air Strike On The Maoists

The chief of the air force ruled out any strike by air on the Maoist hubs across the nation. He further added that the IAF was meant for internal security as well as external security but added that the operation can be only conducted if the collateral damage is minimum. For this, there needs a proper planning.

The chief however said that in case a 250 kg bomb is dropped at a particular place, it can have an impact upto the radius of 800 km and can affect the local life in that particular region.

During the last week, the home secretary gopal pilla ruled out any air strike against the naxals. He said that it is better if we manage without the use of air force. He further said that we need to unfold the key strategies so that we can manage without air power. He further added that the air power will be used for mobility and evacuation of the troops.

In one of the deadliest attacks on CRPF in Chhattisgarh, the DGP of the state said that the government will operate certain strategic strikes to curb the naxals. These strikes will be based on the data provided by the intelligence. There is no single dimensional operation, he added.
